This site is a simple database that lets you search for actors that want to work with Columbia MFA Film Students on in-class exercises in Directing the Actor and filmed exercises in your Directing Workshop. You can search three ways:
--Quick Search is available to the left of this page. Simply check the gender/s and ages you’re looking for and click search!
--Full Search lets you search by gender, age, height, ethnicity, hair color, and theater company membership. It also lets you search by actor name or exclusively for actors with reels. Click “Search” next to the “Home” tab on the top left to perform a Full Search.

--Advanced Search lets you search for all of the above PLUS hair length, eye color, weight, languages spoken, union status, genre experience, education, and singing training. Advanced Search also lets you search specifically for actors who are available for in-class work. Click “Advanced” once you are already on the Full Search page to perform an Advanced Search.

There’s no internal messaging on the site and no middleman—find an actor’s contact info up front in your search results or under their profile photo in their full profile.
You can ADD AN ACTOR TO YOUR FAVORITES by clicking “Add to Favorites” under their profile photo in their full profile, and SAVE A SEARCH when you first perform a Full or Advanced Search OR by clicking the “Save It” tab at the top of your search results.
Actors want to work with you so they can build their reels! If you film a scene with an actor, you are absolutely responsible for getting that footage to them in a timely manner. Actors can cut around problematic scenes to still show off their performances, and you do your fellow students a disservice when you don’t represent the program well. Make sure you continue Columbia students’ access to great, talented actors by getting them their footage as soon as you possibly can.
