Hello Actors! Welcome to the Columbia Casting Network!

The Columbia Casting Network is a simple database that allows Columbia MFA Film students to contact trusted, talented actors directly with opportunities for filmed and/or in-class work.

Tips for Using the Site

You can see exactly what our Directors see by clicking “My Profile” under the “Profile” tab at the Top Left of this page. Only enrolled Columbia MFA Film students have access to this information—they will contact you directly, via email or phone, when they are casting a role that’s right for you.

If you’re new to the site, please complete your profile by adding additional headshots and your reel under the “Add Headshots/Reel” menu above. You may add up to 4 headshots, in addition to your Profile Picture, and you may link up to 4 reels as well. **We find that headshots and reels are especially important to our students when they search for talent, so please add them at your earliest convenience.

Keep Your Profile Accurate and Up-to-Date. We encourage you to return to the site as often as you’d like to edit and update your profile information, resume, headshots and reels as you accumulate more experience and credits. This is the best way to make sure that our students know you are right for a role.

--You can edit/update your profile information and upload a new resume at any time by clicking “Edit Profile” under the “Profile” menu.

--You can update your Profile Photo (your main headshot) by clicking “Profile Photo” under the “Profile” menu.

--Headshots and Reels can be updated under the “Add Headshots/Reel” menu.

A Note on In-Class Work

Participating in in-class exercises is above and beyond the best way to quickly connect with Columbia MFA Film students! In our Directing the Actor classes, actors collaborate with Columbia Directors to perform live film-style scenes in a small workshop setting.

Our students constantly cast their filmed exercises and short films with actors they’ve seen in class, and actors who perform in-class exercises tell us that these scenes often lead to filmed work in the program—either with their scene director or with other up-and-coming directors in the class.

Our Directing the Actor Professors are all accomplished, award-winning film directors—making in-class performances a great opportunity to get a free master class and sharpen your skill set while showing off your talent to the class.

To update your availability, go to your “Edit Profile” page and click “Yes” from the drop-down menu for In-Class Exercises.

If you don’t hear from our students right away, be patient! Our casting periods are cyclical—if you aren’t getting offers now, you should expect to when our next casting cycle rolls around.
